It and 'Goldfinger' and 'Gold Drop' were the most sold cultiv...Read Morears from nurseries in northern Illinois in the 1970's onward; though, the greatest height of the use of Potentillas was in the 70's into the 90's and they seem to have lost some popularity for the general public because they can get messy in habit with age and must be properly pruned down, but too low, but they are still offered in many nurseries. They sometimes die out after a number of years. They can live to about 30 years old. 'Abbottswood' was also selected for being more compact and having good blue-green foliage.
