Verbena, Butterfly Verbena, Tall Verbena 'Lollipop'

This is a lovely little plant which fits perfectly in a flowerbed. It attracts butterflies and pollinators much the way a buddleia butter...Read Morefly bush does, but in a much more controllable size and without the prolific reseeding concerns. Mine blooms continuously from June until frost.

This plant does have a sprawling and rangy growth habit-- the flowers really do look like lollipops on the ends of sticks. I have planted it among other leafier flowers so that the stems poke up in between and blend in better. It is also susceptible to powdery mildew during particularly wet summers.
