Has ...Read Morea rosette of pinnate, grey green, softly hairy leaves up to 5 inches long. Leaflets can number upto 25 and are are oblong and sharply toothed. Bears 5 petalled, bright gold, solitary flowers.

Its native habitat is wet, acid grassland in full sun to partial shade, but will grow practically anywhere. Rarely on sale even as seed but gives a lovely soft finish to a slightly shady area and brightens it up with its silver leaves. Runs all over my garden and can be cut down each year in Autumn with no ill effects.
Its been used for treating piles, stomach cramps, arthritis, tooth ache, jaundice, sores and mouth ulcers.
Its astringent qualities help reduce blemishes of the skin from freckles to spots and was even used to prevent skin pitting from small pox.
It's been used with honey as a gargle to alleviate sore throats.
Its even been used as an effective cure for tetanus.
