The cooler it gets the better the color on this succulent. They make an excellent specimen for a garden focal point, great in pots, stunning as a hedge. My plants will get over 7 feet tall with staking, but I keep trimming them back to that size so I'm not sure just how tall they would eventually get. They are frost tolerant, but will get damage below 28 degrees. They appreciate a south facing wall for winter. As long as they are watered weekly they can handle temperatures over 115+. Super easy to grow from cuttings, just let them callus, put them in soil and water at least bi weekly until established. Cuttings will die if allowed to dry out.

After that it's very hard to kill this plant, drought tolerant, unless a hard freeze occurs for more than overnight. BE CAREFUL handling by NOT touching your eyes after touching this plant! Intense burning of eyes will occur and I've heard of victims having to go to the hospital for this condition. As stated, winter and early spring in full sun will give an amazing deep red color and in summer will be light orange/green. As for height, I have some over 15' tall. Depending how you trim, these can be a bush or shaped into a tree.
