So far it has survived our frosts . Not the most drought hardiest of trees.
I hope to see the flower some day, but right now while it is young the most is incredible things about it are the HUGE leaves, and the sheet- white undersides. It is supposed to be related to and a form of M. macrophylla of the south -east U.S. I can see the connection, as both species have " ear lobes" at the base of the leaves where they attach to the petiole.
