I planted this plant in a windy location. It does not seem to be bothered by the wind, swaying to and fro in the breeze without damage. It gets half a day in the sun and half a day in the shade. It needs plenty of water in the beginning while it establishes itself. After that, a bit of fertilizer here and there and the Florida weather takes care of the rest: an autopilot plant. The bloom spikes are astounding, producing reddish-orange blooms. It is now 4 feet high (1,2 m). When it reaches 6 feet high (2m), I will prune it and propagate the cuttings. I could definitely stand having more of that in my beds.
