Please help! My banana creams, now in their third year, are behaving very differently vs. prior years. They are not growing, as if time h...Read Moreas stopped for them. Theres no wilt, yellowing, or browning, but they have remained the same height, ab.6”, for more than a month. The past winter seems to have been too harsh on them, those in the ground almost all died out, those in the pot survived and i planted them in the bed this spring, but they are still 6” tall.
For comparison, in prior springs they grew fast, bloomed beautifully, and were eager to expand and take more and more room. Now, no vigor at all. What could be wrong? I am on Long Island, NY.

I'm looking for plants to replace Old Court Variety Shasta Daisies that are too tall and blocking a view. So I am looking for something shorter than about 20 inches.
