The clumping varieties on the other hand can make great additions as they are easy and vigorous while remaining in a nice neat clump. In a pot it is very easy and can make a nice addition to a terrarium as well. The variegated and pink leaved cultivars are very desirable, but as with the species can spread quickly.

The first was a gift from a friend and is the traditional green and white. The new one that I just got yesterday has stunning dusty mauve leaves that seem to simmer with depth when viewed from different angles. I've not seen any picture that comes close to this color. The other, that so far has gotten away, is an absolute neon green with brilliant red veins on the leaves. I do bring my older green and white nephytis in during the winter. It thrives on my shaded patio in our extremely hot summers.
