I have had this rose for about 6 years. It is in my opinion the very best in this color class. Nice fragrance, not strong but medium true r...Read Moreose. The color is more rusty orange in warm weather but a sort of coral clay color with lavenderish smoky tones heavily into it in cooler weather. Decent grower and it has become one of my favorite roses along with Nigrette.
I just got this about a month and a half ago thru mail order. It's a bit juvenile (1 year old rooted cutting) so it is going to take a wh...Read Moreile for it to bloom. Bummer because I am choming at the bit to see it.
It is a bit of a slow grower with very light green colored (similar to the Blue Girl's) foliage and deep russet colored new shoots. It seems to be pretty resistant to disease thus far... once the Summer arrives though, that may change. There is no other place with as much heat and humidity as S. Florida (well except Orlando, FL) during the Summer!!
UPDATE: Well, after several months, this one finally bloomed for me! It is a VERY unusual color... the only way I can describe it is a rusty orange. It might be different in another climate. I took a picture of it but the color is not true to life. The bloom is fully double and there is hardly any fragrance. It makes up for it in color though!
