As you can see from my photo, it suffers thrips damage (the white marks on the right side petal). I don't use pesticides unless I have to so I just live with this disfiguration.
The plant is sturdy, give it room. It doesn't multiply fast for me -- but that may have been due to poor soil. We'll see what happens here at the new place, where it's planted on old pasture with the water table closer to the surface.
