If you feed it well with Epsom salts, you will be rewarded with healthy looking leaves of the deepest green.
This plant is supposed to die back after the first frost, but I've seen it live in snow for up to a month.
The deepest rhizome that I ever found was about 5' deep, so if you want, the "Bucket Method" will work for this plant with no issues.
