They tend to not last long, as other moss species invade and take over. Then the last few years, the mosses fell off due to animal activity, leaving the rocks bare then the cycle start all over again with mnium and a unidentified species starting again from pits and bare rock surface. They seem to prefer both shade and partial sun, high humidity.
