They die down each December and pop back up in early summer at the same time as the zingibers and hedychiums. The flowers have a light sweet scent and I look forward each spring to getting down on the ground and shoving my face into the 6" plants for a whiff. Less prone to leaf spotting and less fussy about water than other calatheas.
