I bought this two years ago as a small plant. It had two branches and grew very slowly the first year. My husband knocked off one of thes...Read Moree branches right away, then knocked off another in the spring. I was so upset because it grew so slow. Well, the next year it really took off, despite a big long drought, and is quite full and definitely established. It gets full on sun and blooms from late spring until mid November in my north Vancouver island raised garden. It isn't covered with blooms but it is consistent, attractive and evergreen.

According to the patent application (and most other sources), this is hardy to Z5.

Like other daphnes, this needs good drainage and consistent moisture. Tends to be short-lived (less than 10 years.)
