It has never gone dormant outdoors, but it took a couple of years for the first little plant to grow big enough to put out it's first flower. I didn't mind the wait because the magnificent leaves are really the stars of the show. They are striking! Grows more gargantuan with each passing year. After it starts flowering, it begins putting out little baby offsets that will eventually turn any flowerbed into a tropical looking paradise. A real beauty!

It bloomed for the first time in Feb 2008. Flower not very big but it is a young plant. Planted inground, partial sun. Has not gone dormant in the 2 years I've grown it.

This is the cultivar Strybing Arboretum in San Francisco is growing and selling that originally came from Western Hills Nursery in Occide...Read Morental, CA. It is a huge variety with great white spots. There is also a nonspotted one with the same name that also came from Western Hills Nursery years ago to add to the confusion. The Strybing calls it Zantedeschia "Hercules" though many sources call it Zantedeschia aethiopica "Hercules".
