We never had a spring -- the weather turned hot in Febru...Read Moreary and bone dry in June and I was afraid I'd lose this gorgeous little thing if I dared put it in its permanent location. So I kept it in it's pot in dappled shade on the north side of my house all of last year and this past winter. It has weathered extreme heat, drought and a cold, cold winter with no snowcover in zone 5a just sitting in it's little pot on the ground! I was so pleasantly surprised last month to see it coming to life, still sitting there in it's little pot amongst so many other perennials that didn't get planted and didn't make it through the winter. The chartreuse foliage is so brilliant and delicate and beautiful, if it never blooms I'll still be in love. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will do as well in the ground as it did in it's little pot :)
