Yucca, Adam's Needle, Needle Palm, Spoonleaf Yucca 'Golden Sword'

I bought this plant, happy to see it being offered in my area. I just planted it in the front of my garden bed, and did nothing really s...Read Morepecial to it. IT put out a few new leaves in the summer, but nothing spectacular.

I forgot to protect it in the winter ( the fall and spring can be sort of wet here), and didnt have much hope.

This spring, I was elated to find it looking quite undamaged! We had -32C one night here, but lots of snow ( it was completly buried under 3 feet of snow).

It turned out, that the ground had sunk a bit, and it was sitting in a low spot. So when the snow melted, it sat in water all day and froze at night for weeks. It started to loose leaf after leaf, with only the growth spear left.

Now its opening up 3 leaves at once. i expanded the bed, now the water runs down, instead of pooling there. Im hoping to remember to protect it better this year, and might have to move it, next spring ( depending on how the snow melt goes).

The main thing is, its alive!
