"The delicate tropical fern-like appearance of this Ruby Red Spikemos...Read Mores or Selaginella erythropus Sanguinea, belies its tough and hardy character. It’s easy to grow, and is actually not a fern despite its lacy fronds, low and spreading habit. A very slow grower, this patch of mine growing in my side garden as a ground cover is almost two years old. It tolerate little or no direct sunlight and is a good choice for shaded spot that needs ground cover, although mine enjoys bright light. The underside of the frond is a brilliant shade of ruby red that contrasts nicely with the olive to bronze green shade of the topside."
