I have been really happy with this one, but it was a bad year for a lot of my plants....this and a few others didn't bl...Read Moreoom. I have re potted it and have it where it gets the morning sun. Vacaville is a bit too hot for it to be in full sun. Hopefully it will perk up and so will the bulbs I separated from the parent bulb. Wish me luck.
This hard-to-find but wonderful 1962 Thad Howard hybrid is a result of a cross of Crinu...Read Morem 'Seven Sisters' (C. americanum x bulbispermum) crossed back to Crinum bulbispermum var. album. The result is a rock-hardy, thick green leaf clump that bears large, pure white flowers with a deliciously sweet scent. I cannot imagine why Crinum 'Ollene' is not grown in every southern garden. C. 'Ollene' was named in honor of Ollene Bundrant, wife of famed crinum breeder Luther Bundrant.
