I bought this plant from a local supermarket last year and it bloomed beautifully, even after I transplanted it to the ground in early fa...Read Morell. This spring I thought it was dead and wound up moving it 3 different times to plant other things right up til some time in June when I saw a little green sprout on it. Not only did it survive the 3 transplants, it is bigger than ever now in early August and covered in buds. Definitely VERY hardy here in zone 6A.
This hibiscus seems to be able to handle anything mother nature throws at it here in zone 5. The flower is awesome. My grandchildren are...Read More always in awe of the flower that is bigger than their face. It is worth a little space in any landscape.

The...Read More Vintage line includes two distinct series – Splash
and Carafe – differentiated by their size at maturity.
Splash varieties are the shortest, most compact varieties
ever bred. These display the dazzling, dinner plate-sized
flowers typical of the species, on neat, uniform plants that
average just 21/2' tall! They are what the well-known 'Disco
Belle' series aspires to be. Perfect for middle to front
of border, as specimen plants in smaller gardens, even
in containers – wherever “just a splash” is just the thing.
Carafe varieties are a bit taller, averaging 3' high. At first
glance, these seem analogous to mid-height 'Southern
Belle' or 'Blue River II' that have been on the market for
years. But then, the virtues of a superior wine take a little
time to appreciate, too. Grown side-by-side with those
standards in our trials, the Carafe varieties quickly revealed
their virtues – more flowers, greater uniformity and an
unprecedented denser, fuller habit.
