It retained its leaves all summer and turned yellow last fall. I have now planted it this spring by the corner of the house to shade what is the warmest room in our house. It will get morning sun with some afternoon shading. The buds are about to burst and I have high hopes for this one. I am planting a Renaissance Reflection Paper Birch this spring from a potted transplant that is approaching 7' with the same treatment as above. If successful for a couple of years it will provide shade against hot afternoon sun on our second story patio doors. THe root zone will be cool from a 4' mugho pine and weeping Japanese Maple below it
