It is beautiful in all seasons with catkins, lovely triangular shape, limbs that tend to grow straight out with good spacing. Kind of like a pagoda dogwood, but more triangular shaped over all. It also provides for the harvester butterfly. It is a fast grower, and over 20' tall. It fixes nitrogen in the soil, and plants grow well around it.

Maybe multi-trunk...Read Moreed trees grown in a thicket will end up like that, but my single-trunked trees growing in the open are now 25 feet tall (after 5 years) and still growing explosively. I expect they'll end up about 40 feet tall. I don't expect them to be long-lived trees, but they're doing great as quick erosion control along my creek. I'm in Indianapolis, about 100 miles south of the native range for this tree.
