They're currently in well draining soil, in full sun and I let them completely yellow (they were hideous all of May) and "sugar down" all the energy they could possibly get before cutting them back in the Spring of 2017.
I am a Master Gardener and have never had a daffodil act like tulips, that send up "mule ears" religiously their 2nd year.
I big disappointment as they are in the very front of my border right by the front door, and all they are doing is looking like grass.
We had a very cold winter for this area and do not know if that contributed but I will be promptly digging them up the second I find something I would like to plop in that valuable real estate.

I have them growing in two separate beds, one is raised and one is in somewhat heavy clay. Both areas do great with Baby Boomer. I have seen no difference in performance. So, those that have difficult sites or heavy soil could consider these. I planted them last fall and they bloomed beautifully this spring. I can't wait to see them multiply and bloom more next spring.
Update: 5/18/12 Does not bloom now, just green leaves all the time. I even let the foilage brown out by itself all season last year. Hmm... Not worth the trouble I guess. Live and learn.
