This cultivar is less floriferous than the species or var. fargesii. Flowering begins in August here and continues for a long season into the fall. Flowers have a white corolla and beautiful and long-lasting dark red/maroon calyces. The fragrance is heavy and jasmine-like. The fruit is an electric turquoise blue-green and overlaps in season with the flowers.
