That labeling is technically correct, though it misleads those north of Z8a into believing they've purchased a hardy plant.
I wish some enterprising nursery would collect seed from a hardy northern form.
A rare plant in the wild through the northern half of its range. Wild populations depend on fire for their long-term survival. This species has recently gone extinct in New England in the wild.
