This shrub variety was designated a top performer by the Abbey Rockefeller Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden, where no fungicides are used. It is exceptionally resistant to black spot and powdery mildew, and is a valuable shrub for any sustainably managed garden here in eastern N. America.
This variety is hardy at least through Z5b.
One of Kordes' Fairy Tale rose series, with very full, old-fashioned flower shapes---a response to the success of Austin's English roses. Roses of this series have better disease resistance than the English roses but are not notably fragrant.
