Linnaea, Glossy Abelia 'Kaleidoscope'

I have one in the ground and one in a pot. Both have survived. The one in the pot was planted is about 2 years old now and overwintered...Read More outside. The one in the ground had been bought last fall but we didn't plant it until this spring (had been mulched in over the winter against a tall fence). This spring both looked pretty worse for wear. Thought they were gonners but plants tend to surprise you so I watered and let them be and sure enough they leafed out and flowered. I did have some dead branches and ended up trimming them out.

Does not grow in northern Maryland either. All 7 of my plants died to the ground in winter. About half of them came back in the spring fo...Read Morer 2 years straight (before I got rid of them) but were never more than tiny little plants, 6"x6" at most.

Rooted from Fall cuttings wonderfully!

I planted 2 of these last fall and neither survived the winter. The zone rating may be wrong.
