We grew this tomato during the summer or 2015 in Salt Lake City. This tomato was grown in an Earthbox with another variety. It's neighbor had foliar disease early and throughout the growing season. Despite being intertwined this plant never displayed any disease up until frost. It yielded its first tomato 90 days from transplant. It's yield was on the lower side for my garden with 23 usable tomatoes recorded. Having said that, it was a flavor champion. It and 'Eva Purple Ball' were the two tomatoes that seemed 100% consistent in producing tomatoes of truly superior flavor. It will earn a place in my garden every year due to it's consistent superior flavor and disease tolerance.

It produced 26 tomatoes from 8 to 18 ounces. I was surprised at the size of some of them from the descriptions I had read saying it was a medium size tomato. Many were of medium size but many were also large. One drawback is the tomato will sun scald quicker than most. I will try it in the fall and see if it is a good fall tomato.

Exact history is not known for certain, but it is thought to be a stabilized selection from a cross between Brandywine and an unknown black, based on information that was passed on when seeds were shared with a fellow tomato grower about three years ago.
Developed by a JD in Conroe, Texas. Transplants for this variety can sometimes be found in the spring at better nurseries in the South Texas area. At the time of this entry, seeds are not commercially available.
