in Maine Ribes nigrum is banned state wide and the lower part of the state bans all Ribes. in my county we can grow these and any other ...Read MoreAmerican Ribes species. i have my crandal in a drier spot in the yard. it flowered and fruited in the 2nd year. only was 12in. tall. it had so many berries i had to support its branches with bamboo stakes. the flowers it puts out smells great and the bush looked completely yellow from a distance! also have never seen WPBR on it. i had it on another type of clove currant that was right next to it and it never got infected. if you are in a state that bans Ribes nigrum, try this one.
