It is definitely hardy for extended periods in the low twenties and high teens farenheit. Great overall cultivar which gets much wider than tall.
My oldest one is in its fourth year and is 4-5 feet wide while remaining bushy and about 24-30 inches tall. The branches become spreading with age.
A very graceful specimen.
DO NOT space it at 18-24 inches as it needs room. I would recommend Planning for it to get 6-8 feet wide. I read that it can get up to eight feet wide. As the branches get longer they start to weigh themselves down and become horizontal at the base, thus the plant gets wider but the newer growth is always verticle.
Flowering starts in 3rd winter in a strong light blue. Bees love it.
