Clematis, Texensis-Viorna Clematis, Late Small-flowered Clematis 'Gravetye Beauty'

In spring 2006 I planted a Clematis Gravetye Beauty vine in part sun hoping to have many deep red tulip-like flowers in the future.
...Read More Each year the foliage as been dense and green but the flowers have been few and far between. In 2016 the vine produced a total of 4 blossoms. This season (2017) the vine had a total of 7 flowers and an over abundance of foliage. I realized that this clematis was never going to look like the photos in magazines and catalogs so I dug it up and tossed it in the landfill dump-site.
I would not recommend this vine to other gardeners.
