Its ...Read Moreleaves are much more deeply incised than those of the American Sycamore that is similar. Its dry fruit button balls are borne in 2's to 6's. This species is native to southeastern Europe and western Asia. It was used to produce with the American Sycamore the hybrid London Planetree. It has good resistance to the sycamore anthracnose disease that causes the American species to often lose the first crop of leaves during cool, wet springs. It is not common in the USA.
