This alone makes it worth...Read More planting in my view (of course this also makes it vulnerable to crop loss with frost). Sets some fruit but most drop (some years all). Pollination is supposed to be adequate with Asian plum nearby but Nearby Santa Rosa Plum (very good pollinator) hasn't helped this one much. Subject to pest damage (I think plum curculio) in this area though I haven't sprayed much.
I also have another 3 in one multigrafted Pluot not far away. That is grafted with Dapple Dandy (excellent set and quality), Flavor King (excellent set and quality) and Flavor Queen (poor set and size)
Multigrafting seems to solve the pollination problem but pruning to maintain equal portions of each hard, but in this case worked (in my experience with other such trees often a failure).
