It is a very tough rose, and survived for many years in a pot. It is quite compact and low growing and has very healthy, matte green disease-free foliage. I love how fragrant the foliage and buds are when touched. Since it suckers, as most gallicas do, it is very easy to propagate by simply pulling hard on an outer cane to dislodge it along with some roots. I have it growing both in a pot and in the ground now, and I love the uniqueness of this very old rose.
