‘Gold’ (‘Peterson’s Yellow’)
Flower brilliant yellow with narrow white margin around petals, small amount of white at tip Petal wide, lanceolate, blunt tip, moderately overlapping margin rolled inward; good texture Size two-and-three-quarter inches in diameter Scent slight lemon scent Stalk reddish-green, smooth, upright, low flower number Keeping quality good Leaves dark green with acute tips Plant habit upright, open branching; suitable for landscaping Bearing habit March to October, light to moderate flower production Parentage P. rubra f. acuminata Remarks Intermediate hybrids with ‘Common Yellow’ are difficult to distinguish except by their smaller flowers with less white in the margin.
