This potato leaf variety is a family heirloom given to us in 1999 by Emil and Ann Valena of California. They received seeds from relatives in Cino, Italy who they were visiting in the late 1960s. They have been growing it ever since. When we asked how long the family had been growing it there, we got the vague reply, "forever." Regardless of its exact history, it is a darn good tomato. We have trialed it in Tennessee, Oregon and California and it has performed well in both good and bad years."
