It has a wide range across East Texas; however, it is scarce in most of the counties in which specimen have been collected. Bogs and deep wet acidic woodlands in East Texas. Amorpha paniculata's fuzzy broad leaflets that have conspicuously raised veins on their undersides and its 8 to 16 inches long, slender flower panicles which rise above the foliage set it apart from other Amorpha species.
