In our most severe Seattle summer heat (!), it has experienced slight leaf burn; maybe a partially shaded location would beat full sun for this reason. Fall color occurs on a time curve; at one point the tree has partially green, yellow, orange and deep red colors, not unlike some Witch Hazels. Also, it has quite strong petioles which is always good against fall winds.

It has grown a...Read Morebout a foot wider but probably only about 5 inches taller. I had read they are fast growers. Beautiful in spring and fall with red-orange edged green leaves, and in summer, the large green leaves provide a good contrast to my Inaba Shidare (lacey red leaves) right next to it. Had hoped for faster growth since I'm trying to get some shade over a small pond. I'd highly recommend this tree if you are patient.
