Impatiens mengtzseana IS somewhat hardy to cold and my mother plant in Sonoma County CA has never suffered frost dieback, even down to the low 20s °F. With daily water, a large enough pot, and enough shade, this really is a magnificent and wonderful addition to any garden - if it receives the daily cool-off that it needs.
