Had terrible luck with this variety. Every single tomato split. Plants were healthy, no fungus (as far as I saw), regularly watered by ...Read Moredrip irrigation, and no crazy fluctuations in weather. They were grown in the same garden as two other varieties - Granadero and San Marzano - which produced no split tomatoes. All plants were started from seed in the same manner and planted at the same time. Had multiple plants of each variety, all varieties produced large numbers of tomatoes, but only Blue Beech were virtually unusable due to large fissures. I've grown large sausage-type tomatoes before with good results; not sure what happened with these.
