It grows scattered among its cousin, the Purple Wine Cup, C. involucrata. It grows from a thick taproot and does not transplant well. I like the contract between the plentiful purple color and the pale pink that appear here and there. It's not picky about soil types, but does need well drained soil. Prefers full sun. Does not grow in the shade around here.
