We do have hot summers, which is probably to blame. Fruit was so-so. Small, mild, and cracked very easily. It is remarkable that the variegation consistently comes true from seed.

Still green, lush and STILL growing like a weed in the middle of December after several frosts. It is in a south-facing location with sheltering house walls on the west and north sides of the plant. I will update if it makes it to spring alive and well (and needing to be pruned back before it completely takes over the house).
This is a beautiful tomato plant, and the fruit, while not as good tasting as some heirlooms, is still a heck of a lot better then store tomatoes. I intend to use this plant for dual purpose as landscape and as food. I also intend to take a cutting or two from it and over-winter it in my house as a houseplant, if it will cooperate.
I have been told that this plant has been grown in Europe for some time and just never effectively made it into the US. This plant came from a friend who was given some seeds from a friend of hers.
This is a monster plant given the correct conditions and care- as of the middle of December, it is 10-12 feet tall, being held in a cage that is 6 foot tall. It is taking over the two cages of the dead cherry tomatoes next to it. It is as easy to grow as any other tomato- no special fussiness here.
