This little tree has been in my yard now since May of 2005. It is one of the top three favorite plants I own.
Each Spring...Read More new needles errupt as the coolest pink, and I mean PINK, nodes at the tips of each branch.
I recall the day I bought it, someone mentioning the price being a bit steep for a plant so young. I can say emphatically, it was and is worth every penny I paid in the year 'round enjoyment it gives back.
It seems to be bothered by no pests that I've ever seen, is happy even when it is very wet or very dry outside... although I will break down and water if it's true drought conditions as the plant means too much to me to risk loosing it.
I believe a number of nursery people carry this very, very small tree now. I understand it's favored for bonsai also.
