They are small orchids with a most fascinating labellum
. - recurved with colourful reddish hairs. Often found along newly mowed firebreaks and are sometimes difficult to spot (apart from small flashes of colour) because they merge into the cut grass.

They have a very thin scape which makes for exciting/frustrating times when trying to photograph them - one of the challenges in native orchid hunting."

It has no leaf when in flower, just ...Read Morea tiny pale pink to white flower, with two conspicuous petals giving rise to it's common name of Parson's Bands. After flowering a shiny ovate leaf is produced, but these are even harder to spot than the flowers.
