This is a scrambling vine. Each stem is between 30 and 50 cm long. They grow associated either to higher vegetation that allows them to climb up to 50 cm, or rocks through which they scramble.
Sowing recommendations: during autumn, in a mix of equal parts of sharp river sand, compost and regular garden soil. Cover this mix with a layer of sand, place the seeds and barely cover with another layer of sharp river sand. Ideally, use individual pots, because root disturbance can lead the seedling to die when transplanted. Place your pots in a cold frame or a cold greenhouse if you have heavy rains in your area. If you have snow, place the pots outdoors and let nature do the job.
Mutisia sinuata is an amazing addition to any rock garden or as ground cover and hardy to at least an equivalent to a USA zone.6b.
