These are wonderful, animated little birds. They're enjoyable to watch and non-aggressive towards other birds.

They "talk" constantly so even when we don't see them we still hear them. Another very unique trait is they always face forward whether they're climbing up or down a tree.

Nuthatches are also very friendly. I've had them land right on a suet feeder while I was filling it and they'll quite often allow you to come very close when they're eating before flying off.

I've had one lone nuthatch visiting my feeders this summer and he is a joy to watch, although he doesn't hang around very long. He particularly likes the woodpecker bar.
