These ducks are found near small ponds, large puddles, and just about anywhere with a little water. These are tree ducks and can be seen sitting on branches and even utility wires. I have seen a Mother leading her babies right across a parking lot from a field to a small pond. They just walked across the lot as if there were no people or cars present.
