I would see this bird only periodically in Waikiki, but have seen it regularly in the last few months, since February 2009, on the University of Hawai'i campus in Manoa, near Dean Hall.

The Yellow-fronted Canary (Serinus mozambicus) a native of Africa, was introduced to Hawaii about 1964. It is established on Oahu Island, particularly in Waikiki at Kapi'olani Park.
