To TonyO from Jay - NE - , OK (Zone 6b), that is a MYTH! Guineas are no different than other poultry in that they will eat ticks if they see them, but they do not deliberately go on the hunt for ticks. If you want to know the BEST tick remover it is the Virginia opossum. 'possums are meticulous cleaners, even better than a cat. 'possums travel through areas where ticks attach to them and when they remove a tick from themselves they eat them. There was a study done on this.

Guineas ARE great insectivores. They spend most of their time foraging for beetles, grubs, flies, centipedes, crickets, grasshoppers, and caterpillars.
