I live in Southeast Oklahoma and we have a family of roadrunners that live next to our property. We have a 10 acre horse ranch with pasture and a pond. The roadrunners would cross our property and go hunting up by the pond. We'd see them with little snakes in their beaks...that's why I just love the roadrunner! One in particular would land on our deck railing that overlooks our pasture & pond and I got a few great photos of him (posted here). They had 2 babies last year and we're looking forward to seeing more this year.
